London Cocktail Club
Hidden underground and accessed by an industrial metal staircase, it takes a good minute for your eyes to adjust to the darkness of LCC's Shoreditch basement bar.
Small and intimate, there's a mix of banquette and bar seating, all Mod/Rocker themed with biker-jacket couches made from studded leather and green velvets.
There's a long list of cocktails, from classic Mojitos to the more unusual Squid Ink Sour and the Bloody-Mary-esque Red Snapper; served in a Heinz baked bean can. Monday's are 2-1 cocktails, which makes for a dangerous Tuesday.
This is a party bar rather than a place for romance, with an edgy vibe and a big attitude. It must be working - there are now six LCC's across London; each with their own design but all sticking to their rebellious roots.
