A bustling restaurant in the heart of Soho, HIX serves up a weekly-changing menu of seasonal British food from celebrated restauranteur Mark Hix.
The stunning dining area is adorned with an eclectic collection of neons and mobiles from celebrated British artists (a lover of art, Hix has recently teamed up with Damien Hirst to create Pharmacy 2). The subterranean Mark's Bar is hidden downstairs and boasts an eccentric cocktail menu to enjoy whilst reclining in a brown leather Chesterfield.
The set menu, served until 6.30pm, is perfect for a pre-theatre bite, offering 3 courses for £24.50. The classic Webster’s fish fingers with chips and mushy peas hit the spot, and the Sharpham Estate spelt cooked in ink with Spey Bay squid and coastal greens was deliciously unusual. The £4 mini puddings are hard to resist; order the Norfolk treacle tart with Neal’s Yard Dairy crème fraiche; you won't regret it.
