Dead Dolls House
It would be possible to spend your whole weekend in The Dead Dolls house and not feel sick of the place. With a Peckham and Islington branch, it is a rarity in London, opening for breakfast at 9, and entertaining right the way through until 4am on weekends.
It does indeed feel like a giant fairytale house; there's a Parlour, a Library, a Drawing Room and a Ballroom come late night cocktail bar. Each space is ornately decorated, but with a modern twist. Story goes that the owners couldn't afford furniture and so instead drew it on the walls. Bookshelves, grandfather clocks, mirrors, and plants are doodled over every surface, creating a surreal and completely unique space.
For bottomless brunch, we were seated in the light and airy downstairs Parlour room, complete with a beautifully patterned monochrome bar. We sat at gold mirrored tables and enjoyed smashed avocado on toast and the Dead Dolls fry up (with extra black pudding), all washed down by as many jugs of mimosas as we could drink. The food was tasty, if fairly typical; it was the decor and the ambience that was the real highlight of this little townhouse.
