With gorgeous cocktails and a Michelin starred chef, this secret sky-high haven is a sophisticated escape from the bustling crowds of Liverpool Street below.
I visited City Social as part of Gin Journey (another great London activity). Whisked up to the 24th floor, guests arrive in a stunning bar and restaurant space; the floor to ceiling windows offering endless views over the City of London.
Cocktails are unusual - The Shison Fire was a brilliant mix of Olmeca Altos Blanco tequila, apple and wasabi puree, shiso and 'black lava salt'. Food doesn't come cheap, but with Paul Walsh as executive chef (experience including the Savoy Hotel and Grill, Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, and launching the 28-50 Wine Workshop), you can see why.
The low lighting, dark wood furniture and classy touches (don't miss the stylish service-wear and glasses), make this the perfect romantic setting for the many couples enjoying an evening under the twinkling city lights.
